The below article is why it’s so important to live with high personal standards. A momentary lapse in judgment can have a lasting impact. Affairs rarely lead to anything good. People who are not living their lives fully become board or restless and they seek out affairs to give them something to feel good about themselves or to make life a little fun… they are a temporary distraction at best. Think about the nature of an affair. You’re sneaking, you’re hurting someone else, you’re potentially tied to a person you don’t want to be with and longing for freedom. These are all dark states. A better option would be to find what would truly make you happy and incorporate those things into your life. Mend your relationship or set a goal to end your current disastrous one so that you can attract someone more in line with your vision and goals for life, find work you love, build in travel or adventure, volunteer for a cause that has meaning for you. Find a new hobby or interest. These are freeing states. They expand you as a human being and call you to a much higher and better place.
If you’re having an affair, I urge you to strongly consider that there might be another option. Honor yourself. Know that you deserve better and start rebuilding your life from the inside out. Let your love of life be what fulfills you, not someone who belongs to another and who you’ll probably never end up happy with anyway. Odds are it’s a complete waste of time. Things that begin from a state of darkness rarely end up being filled with light. #BEGINTHEJOURNEY
On a separate note, I agree with her from the standpoint of being a woman… they both made a mistake, why does he get to go on with his life and she doesn’t? Sexual bias is still a problem in our society. It’s subtle, but very real.
