It’s pretty obvious if we look around… darkness covers the land. People are despairing. Desperate. In need of hope. The world, right now, offers very little of that to those who remain unaware, stumbling in the dark, completely disconnected from their spiritual nature. And when people are disconnected, blocked or otherwise cut off from their spirit, they don’t feel love and when people don’t feel love, it’s just a short time before its opposite will settle into their being and manifest.
There are laws that govern the universe. I highly suggest you do a Google search and get familiar with these laws. They govern everything and just like gravity, it works whether you are aware of it or not. The most notable one is the Law of Attraction. Charles Haanel, a thought leader on spiritual abundance stated in the opening chapter of his book The Master Key Secret, “That much gathers more is true on every plane of existence, and that loss leads to greater loss is equally true; ” meaning that whatever the point of resonance, more things of like nature will be drawn to it. One of the reasons darkness covers the land is because of this law. As we’ve allowed things to become dark… since the law says that much gathers more… a momentum has been established and much is now gathering more. As we stand by and allow darkness to grow…basically, it will continue to grow.
Only light can overcome darkness.
From the bible:
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John: 1-5
This is not a religious blog. Those of you who’ve followed me for a while know that I’m Christian, but the point of my blog is not to proselytize my own beliefs. My purpose for this blog is to raise individual conscious awareness. To remind people of the truth of who they are so that individually we can begin to manifest lives that are whole, complete, and full of joy. As we do so on an individual basis not only do we make life really good for ourselves, but we bless others around us as we serve and teach, positively impacting the whole of humanity. Makes no difference what your particular practice is since all great spiritual leaders basically spoke of the same thing and the tenets of all major religions are basically the same. Insert your own faith <here.>”
My point is this. We each have, not only a responsibility, but the power to affect change and we do that by nurturing and growing the light that resides in each of us as individuals. Think of it this way:
You walk into a dark room. It’s pitch black, but someone comes in with a candle. The light from the candle overcomes the darkness just enough for you to see there are four walls and that someone is in the room with you. A few seconds later, someone comes in holding another candle. A third person. A Fourth… until the entire room is filled shoulder to shoulder with people holding candles.
What happens to the darkness?
As we make a conscious effort to nurture and grow the light that resides in each and every one of us… just like a room that was once dark slowly, bit by bit being illuminated by the lights of candles, we will light the entire world. As we fill ourselves with light not only does our own life improve, but we positively affect all of humanity.
Today, make a conscious commitment to yourself that from today forward you will nurture the light within and do your part to be a light in the darkness. What candle will you carry from this day forward? Perhaps love or truth is written on your candle. Perhaps your candle says kindness or generosity. Maybe inspire or uplift or service. Perhaps you’re bold enough to carry more than one. Light your candle and let it shine bright, whatever good you decide to give. Carry it with you wherever you go and not only will it help to overcome darkness, but it will serve as a beacon for others to follow.
