I believe in the creative power of words. They have the ability to touch, to heal, to encourage and uplift. I love them. Nothing can turn me on faster than a good quote. And as a writer I use them to entertain, educate and inspire. I use them to create worlds. In and of themselves they are simple, but never underestimate the power behind them.

Scientists and spiritual leaders alike are now coming forward with information regarding the power of words. A simple affirmation repeated over and over for a period of time can evoke quite a change in someone’s life. Prayers are words organized with a specific aim and intention, backed with faith, and we all know how powerful that is.

Just like my creative use of words to tell stories and entertain, words can be used to destroy, tear down and hinder not only others but ourselves. When we complain constantly, are critical of others, think negatively and then use words to express that negativity we are again using the creative power of words, but instead of using them constructively, we set the wheels in motion to create something negative in our lives. It’s no coincidence that the wise ones before us have said things like be kind, optimistic, bless others. When we do, we pave a way for ourselves that is harmonious, peaceful, abundant, and when we don’t, well, you know….

Words are a precious gift. They give us power and I intend to use that power wisely. My second book, Indiscretion, releases today. I’m going to declare an even larger vision for it and put the power of words behind it. From the bible:

Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee and the light will shine upon thy way.
